Modern-day China has one of the most successful economies in the world. It achieves such success through exporting to other major economies such as the US, and Japan. Chinese workers generally work for less money, and this is why major economies like the US import Chinese products instead of making them locally, such as electrical and other machinery, including data processing equipment, apparel, furniture, textiles and integrated circuits ("China", CIA). That’s why there are so many products in the stores that say “Made in China“. This exporting of so many products boosts the economy of China, but like other major economies, there is a large wealth gap between the rich and the poor.
