CIVILIZATIONS OF EASTERN ASIA

Japan, though a relatively small nation, has the third-largest economy in the world. It gained such power through establishing powerful automobile and electronics companies such as Mitsubishi and Toyota. Japan exports are very technology based, and include motor vehicles, iron and steel products, and auto parts (“Japan”, CIA). Their export partners are China, the US, and South Korea. The main imports are mainly raw materials such as petroleum, natural gas, and coal (“Japan”, CIA). In Japan, they grow vegetables and rice, fish, and cultivate cattle and other meats. They are also known for their tea.
